Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How long do I leave the tape on?

A: The tape should be left on for as long as possible (even as long as a month or so) until the desired results are achieved.

Q:  How does Biotape work?

A:  Biotape uses Electrostasis to help reconnect the endogenous electrical circuits in your body's living tissue.  It is not magnetic tape. The body knows how to repair itself.  When the body does not, either the messages from the broken circuits are not getting to the brain, or the signal is not returning to the cells to tell them how to repair and replicate.  Biotape, we believe, can help the body accomplish both functions if it is left on long enough.

Q:  What is the main reason Biotape may not work for me?

A:  Dehydration.  Electricity will not travel through dry tissue.   As many as 70-80% of all adults are dehydrated.  It is vital for almost anyone in pain to drink more water along with using the tape.  Dehydration is the number one cause of non-injury and non-impact injury pain.

Q:  What do I do if I have an adverse skin reaction to the tape?

A:  As with any kind of tape, some people may find themselves allergic to the adhesive on Biotape, or to Biotape itself.  Some itching under the tape is normal: it should be expected.  However, if the user develops a rash or blisters, the tape should be removed.  Even if it has only been possible to use the tape for one day, some relief is to be expected.  Biotape can even be used upside-down, using a skin-friendly tape over the top to hold it against the skin. Biotape will conduct signals as long as it touches the skin, even if the adhesive is no longer viable.

Q:  I drink coffee and caffeinated soda.  Will that affect how well Biotape works?

A:  Caffeine is a diuretic.  People who drink it lose more fluid than they take in. You could drink gallons of a caffeinated drink daily and still be dehydrated.

Q:  Does my taking diuretics affect how Biotape will work?

A:  Diuretics can also cause dehydration and thus limit the effectiveness of Biotape.

Q:  Is there danger of Biotape treatments masking a serious medical condition?

A:  The treatment will not work if discomfort is being caused by a tumor, ulcer, bone fracture, or other pathology shutting off the body's electrical circuits and causing tenderness.  Biotape reduces the discomfort by correcting the cause, not by suppressing the signal.

Q:  How do I keep the Biotape from coming off, especially after getting wet?

A:  Biotape should be left on while showering or bathing.  Simply be careful not to scrub it off.  Pat your skin dry instead of rubbing it.  It is helpful to put 1 1/2 to 2 inch wide water proof tape over the top of Biotape to help it stay on in the bath or shower.  If the tape begins to come off, you can tape it down with any other skin-friendly tape.  Biotape will conduct signals as long as it touches the skin, even if the adhesive is no longer working.

Q:  If I have technical questions about the tape or my specific condition is there someone I can ask for advice?
